Poole’s biggest live music venue signs up Aegis Security Support for their event security.
The Lighthouse is Poole’s largest live music venue and they have recently entrusted their event security to Aegis Security Support.
The venue, formerly Poole Arts Centre, has hosted live music since 1978 and was firmly on the live rock music circuit for a host of acts during the 80s and 90s. Bands such as The Clash, Duran Duran, Echo and the Bunnymen, New Order and Public Image Limited all played at the venue. The venue closed in May 2002 for an £8.5 million radical refurbishment and it reopened as Lighthouse in October 2002. The refurbishment added new extensive facilities including a modern cinema, expanded concert hall and photography labs.
The Lighthouse is home to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and throughout the year it puts on a wide-range of contemporary theatre, musicals, spoken word performances and art exhibitions. Its clientele is much more genteel than in days of yore but Aegis Security Support will be providing door administration and public guidance. we look forward to working with the venue for many years to come.
